At Buddha International Shanti Healing Center, we want to ensure you are well-prepared for your trekking adventure in Dhading, Nepal. Below is a comprehensive list of the required trekking equipment and clothing you should bring. While trekking during the day at lower altitudes, lightweight trekking trousers and T-shirts are recommended. However, it is always a good idea to carry a waterproof jacket and some dry, warmer clothing. For the cold nights, thermals, a warm jacket, and a down jacket will help keep you warm.
You can find a variety of these gears to hire or buy in Kathmandu. Most of the gear available is either locally manufactured or imported from China, but high-quality branded gear can also be found in some stores. We can guide you to the best places if needed. This list should be considered an essential summary and may not cover every item you might want to bring.
Trekking Equipment
- 3-4 Season Sleeping Bag: (Optional. We can provide one if you do not have your own, to be returned after the trek).
- Duffel or Main Bag: To keep all your gear, which will be carried by porters during the trek.
- Daypack: To carry water bottles, camera, lunch, and extra clothing.
- Water Bottles: With a wide mouth for easy filling and cleaning.
- Adjustable Trekking Poles
- Lightweight Running Shoes or Sandals: For use in lodges or camps (optional).
- Waterproof Hiking or Trekking Boots: Essential for walking through deep snow or on wet ground.
